Ludford Road

Ludford Rd is a registered residential care home which can accommodate up to 8 adults with mental health issues who need a higher level of care to live in the community. The service is able consider referrals for individuals with dual diagnoses and more challenging complex support needs and offers a high number of staff hours per resident.

Birmingham Mind provides 24 hour staff support to enable residents to move on in their recovery.

The staff at Ludford Rd ensure that the homes atmosphere is welcoming, warm and friendly and they encourage all residents to maintain contact with close friends and family. There are no restrictions to visiting hours within the unit.

The Staff team build good links with the local community mental health teams and other relevant mental health professionals, ensuring that residents receive prompt professional support. The team at the home also ensure that the residents general medical and social care needs are monitored and attended to on an ongoing basis. Cultural, religious and any special needs are acknowledged and will be met internally where possible.

The support from the team is underpinned by key aspects of recovery, hope, respect and personal growth, and focuses on:

Staff ensure that all residents rights and views are respected staff listen to what residents have to say about the service and are also encouraged to be involved in planning within the home offering choice with menu planning, furnishings and décor, residents are also encouraged to be involved with new staff recruitment.

All staff are committed to encouraging residents to identify personal ambitions and goals. We work with the person to develop their support plans sensitive to these needs.

The staff team encourages good links with the local community mental health teams and other relevant professionals, ensuring that residents receive timely professional support.

Referrals are welcomed from the local community mental health teams, however we do consider self referrals and referrals from other statutory service providers. It is important the person being referred has either funding approval from Adults and Communities (Local Authority) or is able to meet the costs themselves either via Direct Payments or other means.

We are unable to take emergency admissions.
